Sidney Chambers (James Norton) goes for a run with Dickens. It becomes clear he is trying desperately to run off his frustrations. Leonard Finch (Al Weaver) heads into town with Hilary Franklin (Emily Bevan). Hilary wants to surprise Leonard with a gift, so they stop at the post office. Wendy Parker (Eve Ponsonby) greets the couple. She hangs a poster on the door, before heading behind the counter. A masked gunman storms the post office and holds everyone at gunpoint. Leonard pleads with the gunman to remain calm, while explaining that Wendy has a bad heart. The gunman smacks Leonard across the face. Then, the gunman aims the gun at Leonard and we heard it fire. Sidney returns home and plays with Grace, before Amanda (Morven Christie) and Mrs. Maguire (Tessa Peake-Jones) interrupt.

Amanda reveals she has found a job. Then, Maguire scolds Sidney for dropping sweat all over the floor. After Amanda leaves, Sidney receives a phone call about the robbery. Sidney, Geordie (Robson Green), and Phil (Lorne MacFadyen) rendezvous at the post office. They attempt to question Leonard, while simultaneously searching for evidence. Wendy’s father, Cyril (Charles Dale), enters and asks about his daughter’s heart. Wendy and Hilary make it clear that Leonard behaved heroically. Back at the station, Leonard speaks about his thoughts when the gun was fired into the ceiling, as he looks as pictures of potential suspects. Cyril tells the detectives how money is loaded into the banks. He suggests the till would’ve contained 20 pounds. Leonard spots a man wearing the same outfit as the robber. Geordie identifies the man as Walter Dunn.

After delving into the man’s criminal history, Geordie, Phil and others prepare to storm his garage. They run across Martha Bennett (Carlyss Peer) and manage to keep her quiet. Then, they come across Frank Camber (Tommy McDonnell), who points them upstairs. They proceed upstairs and find Walter sitting in a chair facing the window. His hand drops to his side and Phil fires his gun in the man’s direction. Sidney rushes inside and learns that Walter was already dead. Sidney chats with Martha, who is playing with a figurine of the Eiffel Tower. She admits she has never been to Paris or anywhere for that matter. Meanwhile, Amanda prepares the kitchen table. She opens the door to Guy Hopkins (Tom Austen). Phil tells Geordie about his upcoming interview for the sergeant’s job. Geordie insists he isn’t ready and his behavior earlier proved it.

Geordie pieces together the evidence and suggests Walter was likely dead for 12 hours before the robbery. He also finds that Walter’s gun has gone missing. Guy and Amanda discuss their future. She admits she would like Guy to see Grace as much as he likes. He tells her that he’ll book the guest house and that she shouldn’t be required to do so. Geordie speaks with Walter’s workers. He learns that the couple were at the garage for 3 hours and never checked on their boss. Martha explains that Walter liked to drink and would become angry when bothered. Walter’s wife, Alice (Holly Aird), calls the garage. Frank leads Sidney and Geordie to Alice’s place. They find her praying. She immediately realizes that her husband is dead. She also wonders whether god might be punishing her. After they leave, Geordie and Sidney ponder why Alice would believe she was being punished. A comment from Geordie leads Sidney to question him about his relationship with Margaret (Seline Hizli).

Sidney complains that they had a pact. Geordie defends himself by claiming he tried to end it, but couldn’t. Back at the station, Phil shows new evidence to Geordie. Cyril lied about the amount of money at the post office during the robbery. Cyril is transported to the station and question. He almost immediately admits to lying about the quantity for insurance purposes. He denies having anything to do with the robbery. Sidney goes for another run. This time, he spots Amanda with Guy. He watches from a distance and makes sure he isn’t noticed. At home, Leonard springs awake at the sound of gunfire. Hilary is there to comfort him. She finally gives him his gift, a book of Poems of William Shakespeare. She also reveals that the townsfolk haven’t stopped talking about Leonard’s bravery. Hilary admits she thinks of Leonard often. She wonders whether he does the same. Sidney interrupts, grabs the whiskey and leaves.

Seconds later, Geordie gets a surprise visit from Margaret. She reveals she thought she was pregnant. She suggests they’ll be forced to think about their future together sooner or later. Phil pushes his way inside. He announces that there is a robbery in progress at the Ellsworth Post Office. Geordie calls the post office, since he realizes police will never make it in time. He speaks with Cyril. After learning that there are two suspects, a man and a woman, he hears the man get shot by the robber. Sidney and Wendy arrive at the hospital together. Cyril is fine. He also admits he managed to hide most of the money in another safe. Back at the station, Geordie and the others realize they may be looking for their very own Bonnie and Clyde. Margaret enters with information about Frank. It turns out the man has a criminal record of his own. Sidney and Geordie arrive at Walter’s funeral.

Sidney keeps the group busy, while Geordie looks through Alice’s belongings. He finds a bloody shirt hidden in a chest. He confronts Alice with the evidence. Frank tries to flee, but is subsequently taken into custody. Alice denies having anything to do with her husband’s murder. She insists the shirt isn’t hers. Frank and Alice are asked about their relationship. Both claim that they’re only friends. Alice explains she was at the dentist when her husband was killed. Frank breaks down, while acknowledging that he has moved past his mistakes. After the interrogations end, Sidney and Geordie return to Alice’s punishment comment. At the church’s bingo event, Leonard tells everyone about the robbery. Jack Chapman (Nick Brimble) congratulates Leonard on the turnout. Leonard takes to the stage and begins calling out numbers. Amanda arrives and Sidney steps outside. Seconds later, we see Geordie at Margaret’s place. She pleads with him to stay at least one night with her, but he leaves.

Amanda speaks with Sidney outside. Sidney admits to seeing Guy earlier. He also implies that Amanda could return to her husband. Amanda reminds Sidney that she doesn’t want this either. Back at home, Leonard celebrates the bingo’s fundraisings. Then, Sidney rains on his parade by asking Leonard about his relationship with Hilary. He suggests Leonard is simply lying to himself. Leonard gives Sidney a mouthful. Sidney heads to the bar and drinks with Geordie. Sidney learns about Margaret’s pregnancy scare. Geordie acknowledges his lack of faith makes him weak and that is why he cannot deny Margaret. They chat about guilt and this leads them back to Alice. They check the receipt from Alice’s doctor visit and question why a tooth extraction would cost five pounds. Alice is forced to admit that she had an abortion.

She also confesses she didn’t want to have a baby with Walter. Alice and Frank admit Walter was abusive. Frank and Alice express their believe that the shirt could belong to Martha. We see the woman being abused by Walter, before grabbing his gun and shooting him dead. Next, Sidney and Geordie consult with Cyril in an attempt to figure out which post office will be hit next. Leonard walks Sidney and Geordie through the day of the robbery. Sidney finds an Eiffel Tower figurine in a drawer and Leonard tells the couple about Wendy hanging the advertisement on the door. This leads Sidney to believe that Wendy assisted the robber. We see Martha and Wendy stop the money truck. They take the money bag and prepare to flee. Before they can escape, they’re stopped by Sidney and Geordie. Both are taken into custody. At the station, Wendy explains that they both purchase Eiffel Tower figures for one another. Martha explains that Walter assaulted her on a regular basis.

Eve Ponsonby Grantchester S3 E3

Wendy insists Walter deserved to die. She also reveals she helped clean up the crime scene and stole Walter’s gun. Wendy also complains about her father’s rules. Martha confirms the couple were planning to run away to Paris. During this time, Leonard tells Hilary that he thinks about her too. He pulls out a wedding ring and asks Hilary to marry him. She immediately says yes. Sidney gives a sermon about letting life pass you by, while worrying too much about the future. He explains that they need to live in the now. After leaving the church, he visits Amanda and apparently makes love to her.

Grantchester Review

This episode of Grantchester was a hoot. Leonard Finch definitely stole the spotlight with his heroic actions at the post office and the humor that followed. Nevertheless, the episode was still very deep emotionally. Not only did Sidney fail to change Geordie’s mind about Margaret, he also took a leap of faith with Amanda. While Sidney rebelled against the Archdeacon, Leonard followed his advice. Is Sidney correct in assuming Leonard is lying to himself about his feelings for Hilary?

If so, Leonard has made a terrible mistake proposing to her. Our main characters have found themselves in precarious situations that could lead to devastating repercussions. Nevertheless, they took Sidney’s advice and lived in the present. The episode was great and possibly one of the best of the season. A 9 out of 10 is awarded to episode 3. Lucy returns home to her mother. The girl seems to have more confidence in her step. She exclaims that he is now ready. The two Wells women step inside together.

Harlots Review

The first season finale of Harlots was likely the best episode of the season. It also did a great job justifying a second season. While Margaret, Charlotte and Lucy managed to escape justice, a lot of other questions remained unanswered. Justice Cunliffe was betrayed by Lord Fallon, who has apparently teamed up with Lydia. In that sense, Lydia managed to outsmart her rival. However, she now has a spy in Charlotte living under her roof.

Emily Lacey used her newfound freedom to bolster her own position and wealth. Will Emily subsequently make life miserable for both Margaret and Lydia? As for Lucy, it seems the girl has finally accepted her destiny as a harlot. What will come of her potential relationship with Lord Fallon? There are tons of questions remaining, so it would be a shame not to get another season of Harlots. Until then, this episode deserves an 8.5 out of 10. Eventually, Theo is forced to take them in. Haddock tells Margo she can use her spiritual abilities to get rid of her spots. She also tells Louisa that her former husband loved the rain, but hated being alone. Louisa seems genuinely shocked by the revelation. After Hermione and Haddock depart, the Durrells and Donald have a get together.

They have no interest and shift their focus to Haddock’s spiritual insights. The conversation is interrupted when Louisa arrives.

Back at home, the others sit around aimlessly. Donald tries to find Gerry, so he can complete the assessment. Louisa subtly admits she has an interest in Haddock’s ability to speak with the deceased. Haddock reveals she knows about Louisa’s husband referring to her as his angel. Then, it is suggested that Haddock could perform a séance. Theo tries to shut down the idea, but Louisa seems interested. Theo is sent to get Spiros (Alexis Georgoulis). While he is away, Louisa invites the two women into her home. Back at home, Margo gives the guys a history lesson in fashion. She is heckled several times and eventually gives up. Then, Donald reads one of his horrible poems. He tells them about the otters and Leslie’s photographing hobby. Leslie shows off a painting and Lawrence reads a few lines from his novel. That night, Louisa has a dream about her former husband. In the morning, Leslie discovers that someone has defaced his painting. Louisa speaks with Haddock. She scolds Haddock for suggesting that her husband is suffering. Haddock instructs Louisa to smell of her hat. She does and it immediately reminds Louisa of her husband. Margo sneakily watches.

That convinces Louisa to order the séance. Margo helps her set the stage for the event. Lawrence finds Donald trying once again to get Gerald to complete his assessment test. Leslie finally hits his breaking point. He heads out into the rain. Lawrence tries to convince his mother to look to the future and forget the past. Margo shows them Leslie’s new version of his painting. Then, they find him outside dancing in the rain. He flings himself into the mud, before seeking comfort inside. Lugaretzia returns and admits she can no longer stand her family. Lawrence lets Spiros and Theo inside. The two admit they’re worried about the séance. Everyone gathers in the kitchen and Haddock begins the ritual. A cooker moves across the table. Then, the windows are forced open. In the middle of the séance, Leslie pulls out his camera and snaps a picture.

In doing so, he catches Haddock faking the events. Chaos ensues. Hermione insists Haddock has nothing to gain from scamming the family. However, it is revealed that almost everyone chipped in money for the séance. Theo shows off his book, which instructs everyone how to catch fake mediums. Spiros rushes to the door only to watch Haddock flee. Spiros and Theo go after her, while the others sulk. Louisa speaks with Hermione in private. Hermione finally admits she probably told Haddock a great deal about Louisa’s former husband during their trip to Corfu. She leaves moments later. Louisa interrupts the others and expresses her desire to read a poem about her husband. They agree to look to the future afterwards. Donald gets Gerald upstairs and once again tries to administer the test. Gerald flees outside when he hears the birds singing. The clouds have moved out and the sun has returned to Corfu.

Donald The Durrells in corfu

Hugh (Daniel Lapaine) arrives seconds later. He tells Louisa that he has missed her dearly, before revealing he has brought the family a present. He opens his bag and pulls out a puppy. Aunt Hermione arrives seconds later with a new friend, Anestis (Panos Koronis). It is obvious she has gotten over her previous sorrows. Donald chats with Margo, while Lawrence heads into town to see Vasilia, who now has the mumps. Louisa hugs Hugh, as it appears she is ready to look forward to the future.

The Durrells In Corfu Review

The 4th episode of The Durrells In Corfu’s second season was far different from the previous three. The characters remained inside for most of the episode. While it was hard not to miss the beautiful scenery, the dark and dreary atmosphere helped to set the mood. A visit from Hermione and her friend, Haddock, forced Louisa to reminisce about her former husband. This obsession became the focus of the episode. In the end, Louisa discovered that everything was a farce. While her feelings for her husband remained, Haddock was simply putting on a show.

Louisa seems to have taken Lawrence’s advice and will apparently move forward with Hugh. The episode was a little long-winded, but enjoyable nonetheless. A 7 out of 10 is deserved. Catch up with previous recaps of The Durrells in Corfu now!

Wentworth Review

While this season of Wentworth has definitely been worth my time, it feels like a giant leap down compared to the first 3. The characters that made the show so great are either gone or have been pushed to the backburner. Maxine has disappeared. Franky felt like a moot point and Liz’s Witness X scare is being overplayed. Doreen could disappear today and very few people would care. The show is trying too hard to become shocking and violent. In its attempt to push the bar, the storylines have been simplified far too much.

Jake immediately hooking up with Nurse Radcliffe was unbelievable. And sadly, Ferguson has been transformed into a comic book character. Pamela Rabe plays the role perfectly, but it has been written so childishly that the character no long feels authentic. Earlier in the season, Ferguson body slammed four or five inmates. Now, she has gained control of the whole prison. Her rise to Top Dog has been too easy. At least the segments with Boomer, Sonia and Vera are somewhat interesting.

The episode deserves a 6.5 out of 10. Catch up with previous recaps of Wentworth now.

After the sermon ends, Leonard Finch (Al Weaver) catches Sidney and Amanda (Morven Christie) kissing backstage. Leonard excuses himself and Sidney gives chase. Ronnie comments about his wife’s necklace, before he is asked what he wants. He apologizes, before revealing that he is suffering from carcinoma and will likely die soon. They promptly pay another visit to Maud and ask her about Josephine’s most recent relationship. She reveals that her daughter’s most recent boyfriend drove a motorbike. Maud also admits she could probably recognize the man. Sidney and Geordie return to the factory to speak with Ezra. The man denies having a motorbike riding employee. Gideon’s office is searched. Geordie watches intently as Phil takes to the stage and shakes the superintendent’s hand. He notices the superintendent’s ring and quickly identifies him as a mason. He tells Sidney about his suspicions immediately. Geordie quickly calls out Phil for trying to derail the investigation into Josephine’s death. Gideon is interviewed at the station. Geordie suggests he wrecked the bike and injured Josephine, while showing off. Gideon eventually breaks. He admits he didn’t mean to hurt Josephine. Geordie and Sidney set their sights on finding the bike, since they know the masons will intervene once again. When they return to the ball, Amanda tells Geordie about Cathy. Geordie confronts Phil and socks him in the face. Back at home, Mrs. Maguire sends Ronnie home, after he tries to kiss her. Geordie finds Cathy sobbing. Leonard writes a letter to Sidney and heads upstairs. He enters the bathroom and grabs a razor. Sidney arrives home and immediately knows something is wrong when he spots the letter. He finds a distraught Leonard in the bathroom. While Sidney tries to calm Leonard, Mrs. Maguire discovers all of her belongings have gone missing. Sidney tries to convince Leonard that he is a wonderful man. Leonard admits his troubles started with the arrival of the Archdeacon. Sidney tells Leonard that he can only be who he is. Phil speaks with Geordie in the morning. He reveals that Gideon has been released. Then, Geordie is ridiculed by the superintendent. Geordie is told to stand down and leave the Garstons alone.

Once the superintendent leaves, Phil returns with evidence confirming Gideon had a motorcycle. Phil explains that he loves his job and wants to do right. Using the evidence and a map, Geordie manages to find the motorbike. It has a piece of Josephine’s clothing in the wheel. During a search of Ezra’s office, Josephine’s ring is found. Ezra is belittled, before he agrees to continue paying Josephine’s wages, so her child will be taken care of. When Sidney returns home, he speaks with Leonard. Leonard says very little, but insists he is fine. Then, Sidney tells Maguire that he had Geordie dig into Ronnie’s background. Ronnie has been lying all along. He isn’t sick at all. Maguire admits she has been thinking about divorcing him, but will not since she made her vows. Sidney watches from a distance as Mrs. Maguire tells Leonard about Ronnie’s thievery.

An enraged Sidney takes his frustrations to the Archdeacon (Gary Beadle). He explains that they’re hypocrites, since they constantly tell everyone to be perfect. Yet, they’re not perfect themselves. They also discuss the other leaders referring to Gabriel as an Uncle Tom. Sidney admits he doesn’t understand how he can respect such an institution. Gabriel tells Sidney he needs to pray. Chambers admits he has, but God didn’t answer. Sidney returns to the church and takes off his religious clothing. He writes a letter to Leonard and walks away.

Grantchester Review

This episode of Grantchester was incredibly deep. Our main characters were forced to their breaking points and nobody came out unscathed. Geordie’s affair with Margaret was finally exposed to Cathy. This could have serious repercussions for the entire Keating family. Geordie will need a miracle to rectify the problem he has created. Mrs. Maguire received a visit from her husband, who turned out to be nothing more than a thief. Despite her desire to break free of him, her commitment to God will not allow her to do so.

Leonard’s encounter with Daniel confirmed what Sidney told him. Leonard was simply lying to himself. In return, he hurt himself and Hilary. Leonard attempted to escape his troubles in the worst possible way. As for Sidney, he decided leaving his troubles behind would be best. What will reunite the characters and help them overcome their current problems? The episode was great. An 8.5 out of 10 is deserved. Catch up with previous recaps of Grantchester right now!

The White Princess Review

The premiere episode of The White Princess was moderately good. I thought the acting was spot on, but Michelle Fairley was a little awkward at times. Some of her mannerisms resembled a court jester and were a little over the top. I suppose this could be contributed to her character’s maniacal obsession with religion. Otherwise, everyone else did great in their respective roles. Also, I am not a fan of the witchcraft.

Nevertheless, the episode established a good foundation for the rest of the series. Before long, the backstabbing and scheming will help to offset the somewhat slow pace. The episode deserves a 7 out of 10.

Sidney explains that Abraham wasn’t fit for the Romany and both knew it. Abraham relents. He admits Ronnie was right. He’d never be the big man capable of running the camp.

Then, Sidney gives a sermon to the people of the camp. Back at home, Jack (Nick Brimble) watches as Sylvia removes her wedding ring. Geordie visits Margaret and officially ends their affair. Sidney returns to town and visits Amanda. She tells him that he’ll need to choose her or the church. Sidney seems dumbfounded by the demand.

Grantchester Review

This episode of Grantchester was unique. Sidney ventured outside of his community, in order to track down Ronnie Maguire. In doing so, he learned a great deal about Ronnie, Sylvia and himself. He nearly followed in Ronnie’s footsteps and ran away from his own troubles. However, the people he met at the Romany camp opened his eyes and put a spotlight on his mistakes. With a little assistance from his friends, Sidney seemingly regained his faith in God.

Nevertheless, the damage may already be done for both Sidney and Geordie. Sidney will need to choose between his church or Amanda. As for Geordie, he will need to smooth things other with Cathy as quickly as possible. The episode was good. It contained the perfect blend of mystery, drama and humor. An 8 out of 10 is deserved. Henry learns about the trip and its purpose. He is told he should ride through the lands and show off his righteous sovereignty. Jasper (Vincent Regan) reminds the King that the battle is still fresh in the citizens’ minds and those wounds will need time to heal. It is also confirmed that skirmishes could still break out along the way. Henry retreats to his wife. Lizzie wonders how Henry will give the impression that the two Houses are united by a peaceful and happy marriage. He eventually agrees to let her tag along. She also explains that Henry should not fear the three stray Stafford rebels, as doing so will only give them more power. Henry returns to Jasper and his mother. He insists he will go to York to show he is not afraid. Seconds later, Elizabeth encounters a new maid, Ruth. She tricks the girl into taking a letter to Lady Margaret.

Francis rushes in and stabs Henry in the shoulder. Then, he makes his escape. Jasper chases him on horseback. Maggie is forced to tell the truth. Lizzie immediately puts a plan into action. During this time, Henry becomes angry with his mother. Margaret suggests offering Elizabeth to the king in Scotland. He insists she would offer better advice, if she would spend less time flirting with Jasper. Lizzie forces the guards to break open the door to the vault. She pretends she is going to hurt the child and this ticks off the Bishop and Cicly. She uses the money to help the locals. Then, she visits her mother. Lizzie doesn’t like the idea. She also belittles her mother for using Francis Lovell to try and assassinate Henry. Lizzie suggests a legitimate war would be more fitting. She also makes it clear that Henry is already aware of Elizabeth’s betrayal. Maggie and Teddy throw out coins to the citizens. They’re told to eat bread to survive. The citizens begin referring to Teddy as King Warwick. Lizzie sends a letter to Henry claiming she and her mother were not involved in the assassination attempt. She urges Henry to look inside of himself for the cause. Then, Henry learns about the uprising of King Warwick. Henry has the boy locked in the tower. Maggie immediately seeks help from Lizzie. Lizzie makes it clear she is ready to accept any punishment he is willing to give. She insists they cannot let people die in the streets when they have a means to stop it. She also explains that ruling with fear is a mistake and will only lead to dissent. Lizzie also makes it clear the Teddy is not a threat. Henry admits the entire country hates him, except for those she helped him win over. Henry thanks Lizzie and insists they could be king together. However, he realizes that she hates him and probably always will.

Next, Henry learns that Burgundy has become a rebel stronghold. He refuses war and instead suggests sending a peace envoy, which will be led by Jasper. Lizzie speaks with Maggie. She admits Teddy cannot be released just yet. However, she believes she has found a way to win. Lizzie visits Henry and lets him feel the baby’s kick. Margaret enters and demands Lizzie remain in confinement until the child is born. Lizzie fires back that the King should make that decision.

The White Princess Review

The second episode of The White Princess was good, but the cheesy magic almost ruined it. Also, Lizzie’s attempt to harm her baby also made me cringe. Besides these two hiccups, the episode went off without a hitch. The scheming is becoming more intense. Lizzie is slowly winning over her husband, while becoming more suspicious of her mother’s motives. Henry is beginning to distrust Margaret. It is clear the relationship between Henry and Lizzie is strengthening.

Will they unite as a single king or is it all a ploy for Lizzie to gain the upper hand? The episode scores a 7.5 out of 10. Catch up with past recaps of The White Princess now!

Meanwhile, Louisa visits Hugh. She finds him coaching his men. She speaks with Sven about his friend, Viggo (Martin Laer). Sven admits there are rumors that Viggo has two women elsewhere. Louisa apologizes that Sven is forced to hide his relationship from the others. Louisa watches as Hugh becomes deeper entranced with winning the cricket game. Donald receives further advice from Gerald. This time, he is told to get a tan. Gerald puts on his mother’s oven mitt and heads outside. He uses a piece of food to lure the bird to his hand. The bird takes the food and rests on Gerald’s hand. Louisa sneaks around and spies on the Greek cricket team. They are horrible. Louisa once again tries to convince Spiros to call off the match. Then, Theo arrives and saves the day. In the morning, we see that Donald has gotten a sun burn.

Then, the cricket game gets underway. Vasilia once again sets her sights on Hugh. Spiros and his men start off strong. The Countess is forced to make a difficult ruling. This causes outrage among Spiros’ men. The Countess becomes upset and leaves. Louisa is forced to take over as umpire. Gerald feeds the bird once again. Spiros gets ready to bat. Hugh takes the ball and accidentally hits him in the head. This causes the game to end prematurely. It also creates more animosity between the two teams. Everyone sits down for food, after Spiros gets his head bandaged. At this time, Vasilia breaks off her relationship with Lawrence. He seems surprisingly disheartened by her decision. She also kisses Hugh, stirring up trouble between the two groups. Louisa tries to calm things down. She fails.

In the morning, Louisa visits Hugh and tries to let him down gently. Hugh invites Louisa to return to England to live with him. Next, Louisa returns home and hides a swimming costume under her robe. Margo tells her that Donald looks handsome with his new tan. Margo tells Donald and he becomes enraged by her shallowness. Spiros joins the family, as Louisa unveils her antique swimming suit and plunges into the water. Afterwards, Margo and Donald play cricket. Spiros speaks with Louisa about the cricket game. He admits they’re all in this world together, regardless of nationality. He also confirms that Louisa is very special to him. One Spiros departs, Lawrence steps outside and suggests Spiro may love Louisa.

The Durrells In Corfu Review

The fifth episode of the second series didn’t do a great deal in terms of moving the story forward. Nevertheless, the episode was still very fun and humorous. The battle between Spiros and Hugh came to a head when the two arranged a cricket game. It is unclear which team won, but Hugh certainly didn’t do himself any favors with Louisa. Vasilia used the game to try and ensnare Hugh in her web once again. Her actions could’ve potentially put an end to the relationship between Hugh and Louisa.

At the end of the episode, Spiros was either showing his true feelings or the symptoms of a brain injury. It has felt like Spiro and Louisa could end up together, but it seems unlikely. Hopefully the finale doesn’t leave too many questions unanswered. The episode deserves a 7.5 out of 10. Catch up with previous recaps of The Durrells in Corfu now!

Allie returns to her cell and prepares a hotshot for Ferguson. Then, she plants herself in the bathroom. Ferguson enters and sends her guards out. She immediately picks on Allie, since she believes she is on dope. Allie rams the syringe in Ferguson’s neck, but doesn’t get to inject the drugs. Ferguson smacks her around and prepares to return the favor. However, she insists Allie deserves worse. Moments later, Franky finds a wet Allie sulking her cell. Franky tells her about the view outside and both agree to escape together.

Wentworth Review

The 5th series of Wentworth has been very, very disappointing. This episode was no different. The writing has been dumbed down to the point that it is no longer believable. At the same time, the episode was very predictable. The writers put little resistance in Allie’s way. She had no trouble finding Tina’s stash and she was also wise enough to use Bea’s sketchbook to her advantage. Yet, she wasn’t smart enough to inject the drugs when she had the chance.

Allie’s laughable heartache for Bea is becoming stale very quickly. Her fights with Liz and her pleading with Ferguson were obnoxious and cringe worthy. Even worse is the fact that the Franky character is no longer relatable. The episode did one thing right. It hopefully got rid of Doreen for good. Sadly, I doubt we’ll be that lucky. The episode was bland. A 6 out of 10 is deserved. Catch up with previous recaps of Wentworth now.

Jamestown Review

Jamestown has all the potential in the world. The time period and setting are great. Plus, the cast is truly topnotch. With the likes of Burn Gorman, Shaun Dooley, Max Beesley, and Sophie Rundle, the series should be spectacular. Unfortunately, the script is subpar at best. The writing doesn’t do the cast any justice. A little humor here and there is fine, but it is simply overwhelming here.

It feels like the writers didn’t take Jamestown serious. The series could be great, but it’ll need to walk a stricter path and eliminate some of the childish banter. The premiere wasn’t terrible, but it was easily forgettable. A 6.5 out of 10 is deserved.

Christopher returns to Redwick and offers him the same medication that cured Mercy. He also insists Verity’s name will be cleared should the conventional medicine cure Redwick. Jocelyn tries to persuade the governor. However, he suggests the women have nothing to fear, if they’re innocent. The Reverend preaches to the locals, when Verity and her friends enter. Verity eventually interrupts and complains about the condemning eyes placed on her, before rushing out. Jocelyn enters, as Verity returns. Jocelyn is given an opportunity to address the locals.

Jocelyn comes up with a ritual to determine whether or not Verity is a witch. The Reverend agrees to try it, as Redwick enters the church. The Reverend administers the test and confirms that Verity is not a witch. Also, the Governor orders the bathroom to be torn down and built elsewhere. Jocelyn strikes a deal with the governor. She insists her husband will pay for Alice’s freedom. Meanwhile, Farlow and Redwick admit they’ve miscalculated Jocelyn. Alice and Silas leave together. As they walk away, they’re taunted by James and his bell. Verity jokes with the others at the pub. Alice and Silas discuss a potential marriage, while Henry washes his face, which is now covered in burns.

Jamestown Review

While Jamestown still feels like a missed opportunity, the episode was a little better. This could be credited to the shortened length. Nevertheless, the episode had some interesting moments. The humor with Verity was entertaining enough, while the situation Alice and Silas have found themselves in should become intense in a matter of time. Jocelyn continues to steal the show with her schemes against Redwick and Farlow.

Things should come to a head soon and the potential of an explosive showdown may be enough to keep viewers hanging around. The episode was decent. A 6.5 out of 10 is deserved. Catch up with our past recaps of Jamestown now!

Wentworth Review

This episode of Wentworth was somewhat better than the previous one. We heard no mention of Doreen and that was definitely a blessing. Franky and Allie continued plotting their escape, which is likely set to fail. Sonia may have struck a deal with Ferguson. Bridget has potentially left Wentworth for good. And, Kaz and Will continue to cooperate to stop Ferguson. Will now has good evidence that Jake is responsible for getting the drugs into the prison.

Will he be able to remove Vera’s blinders and stop Jake from becoming governor? The episode saw hits and misses. Sonia’s project isn’t bad, while the power struggle among the guards is definitely entertaining. Sadly, the high school drama between Bridget and Franky is nearly obnoxious. Plus, the writers have completely obliterated the Nurse Radcliffe character. It seems she only enters the picture when a male character needs a quickie.

This series needs something big to happen very, very soon. The episode deserves a 7 out of 10. Catch up with older recaps of Wentworth immediately.

Geordie immediately doubts the man’s story. Richard gives that theory more credence, when he confirms Archie has a vivid imagination. Sidney isn’t so sure. Afterwards, Sidney tells Geordie about his decision to resign. Geordie hopes the move will stop his friend from being so miserable.

In the morning, Sidney finds Sylvia crying. He ignores her and is confronted by Leonard. Leonard scolds his friend for always leaving when he is needed the most. Back in his office, Geordie receives a call alerting him to Jacob’s disappearance. Everyone rushes over to the Reilly house. Once there, Archie tells them that he never saw anyone with his brother. Geordie asks him about the scarf. It is revealed that the scarf is worn by Girton College pupils. It just happens to be the school, where Richard works. Richard and his wife have no idea who could be out to get them. The town comes together to search for the boy. Geordie admits it usually turns out to be the family in such cases. Phil finds Jacob’s bag.

Geordie calls home and begs Cathy to check on the kids, while Sidney escorts Charlotte to the church. The archdeacon tries to comfort the locals at the church. Once Charlotte arrives, she receives his full attention. In private, Daniel and Leonard speak about their sexuality and the mistrust from others. Daniel becomes upset when he notices the wound on Leonard’s wrist. Sidney listens to Charlotte. She suggests she hasn’t been good enough to her children. She explains that the secrets and lies have hurt them.

With that, they head off to play a game of backgammon.

Grantchester Review

The 3rd season finale was by far the best episode of the season. It wrapped up all of this season’s storylines perfectly. Sidney made the decision to put the wishes of everyone else before his own. That forced him to end the relationship with Amanda. Now, Sidney is right back where he started with his jazz and booze. Geordie managed to smooth things over with Cathy. As for Leonard, he finally stopped lying to himself.

He took a leap of faith with Daniel. It will be interesting to see how that plays out with the townsfolk and the church in future seasons. The episode had it all. There was plenty of drama, tons of crying, and several well-placed uplifting moments. This episode alone justifies another season of Grantchester. We can only hope it gets renewed for a 4th. The episode scores a 9.5 out of 10. Catch up with previous recaps of Grantchester now!

She calls him a liar, since he claimed nobody else would die. Then, she orders him to leave immediately.

The White Princess Review

The 3rd episode of The White Princess was pretty decent, but a little slow. The episode brought the birth of Arthur and the Coronation of Queen Elizabeth. It also separated Elizabeth from her mother not only physically, but possibly mentally. It has also become clear the Henry is slowly moving further away from his mother. Soon, the relationship between Henry and Lizzie could become authentic.

However, the curse could strike down Henry and Arthur in the future. Will Lizzie be able to secure Teddy’s freedom? Will she break away from her mother for good? With the death of Mary of Burgundy, there is a real possibility that a war could be on the horizon. The episode was good. A 7 out of 10 is deserved. Gerald plans to tell Theo the good news, while Ben has intentions to buy Margo a present. Louisa meets with Hugh (Daniel Lapaine). Hugh discusses the things he doesn’t like about Corfu. Louisa reminds him that England isn’t much different. Hugh suggests things will be different when Louisa is with him. Louisa agrees to think it over. Next, the group heads to the church. There, Pavlos (Nick Orestis Chaniotakis) says a prayer and blesses the baby. Leslie speaks about his life and the experience of delivering the baby. Leslie has become a bit of a celebrity in the community. He tells two women that he is thinking about becoming a doctor. Margo speaks with Donald about her new boyfriend. He makes it clear that he is no fan of Zoltan. As the family prepares to head home, Donald picks a fight with Zoltan. They both throw some serious slaps. Louisa takes the kids to the cliff’s edge. She tells them she loves them all very much. They all seem a little weirded out by the comment.

The Durrells In Corfu Review

While The Durrells In Corfu isn’t strong in terms of the overall story, each episode is delightful and fun. The finale was no different. Louisa’s encounter with the strange Rose Beatle Man forced her to reconsider her move away from Corfu. Hugh was disappointed, stabbed and left for dead. Nevertheless, his worst enemy, Spiros, saved his life with a little help from Dr. Petrides. And of course, the finale brought three births. Lugaretzia became a grandmother, Florence finally became a mother, and Gerald’s otter had 2 cubs.

Leslie playing doctor was tons of fun. The fight between Zoltan and Donald was also laughable. The series isn’t a homerun, but it remains consistent from start to finish. It is lighthearted, charming and serves as a good escape. I’ll watch as long as ITV continues making episodes. The finale deserves an 8 out of 10. He explains that only Silas could be the culprit, since he recently travelled up north and he can communicate with the Indians. This gets Silas locked in the cage with the Indian. Alice speaks with Read. She makes it clear she knows Read is hiding something about the musket. Read admits he has been suspicious of Silas ever since he returned without Henry. He suggests Silas may receive justice after all. Meanwhile, Henry (Max Beesley) receives treatment from the Indians. He imagines Silas approaching him and laughing in his face. Silas transforms into another man.

That night, Read visits Alice. He tells her about Donovan Hamble, who used to work for Massinger. Apparently, the man went missing around the time the musket was stolen. He implies that Massinger killed the boy and buried his body. Samuel speaks with Silas, before he leaves. Jocelyn also wonders why the Indian would risk getting caught. The Indian suggests seeking honor is not reckless. Jocelyn forces Silas to tell the Indian that Samuel is responsible for his release. After the boat leaves, Temperance asks Jocelyn if she is from Banbury in Oxfordshire. She confirms it, before rushing off. Back at home, Temperance writes a letter. Its contents remain undisclosed.

Christopher arrives while Mercy is gone. Jocelyn urges Christopher to dance with her to keep her calm. He turns away. Then, he explains that he spoke with Silas about making Samuel responsible for Chacrow’s (Kalani Queypo) release. He explains that it is humiliating for an Indian to be handed over in that manner. Jocelyn’s actions could potentially get Samuel killed. Back at the camp, Redwick and Farlow prepare to kill the Indian. However, things do not go their way. Chacrow escapes into the woods.

Actor Ben Starr Jamestown Episode 3

In the morning, Jocelyn and Mercy worry about Samuel. Then, the Governor and his men arrive at the Indian camp. They’re allowed to meet with the Chief. The Governor asks about the weapon and admits he would prefer the Indians trade with them honorably. The Indian Chief isn’t happy about the Governor’s intention to expand. The growing number of women in Jamestown also concerns him. Read visits Alice and tries to stop her from digging. Massinger watches from a distance. Massinger visits Silas and agrees to drop the charges, as long as Alice stops. Silas is set free, as the Governor and Samuel return to town. Silas thanks Read for his help.

Jamestown Review

The 3rd episode of Jamestown was easily the best of the series. The silly humor was toned down. While it was fairly clear from the onset that neither Silas or Samuel would end up dead, the episode felt serious for a change. The addition of the Indian tribe was also great. Jocelyn’s scheming is bound to come back to haunt her in the near future. Farlow’s nefarious plans have been stopped at every turn. Nevertheless, it feels like he is on the verge of trying something far more dramatic.

Silas has also managed to escape justice thus far. Henry’s eventual return should be very interesting. How will he and Alice deal with that? The episode was surprisingly good A 7.5 out of 10 awarded to episode 3. Catch up with past recaps of Jamestown now!

Jocelyn becomes enraged that Mercy has spilled her secret. She banishes her from the house. After just two days, Meredith begins to show signs of giving up. Pepper finds Mercy sobbing outside. Then, Samuel discovers that his wife stole the note from Farlow. In the morning, Verity speaks with her husband. She learns that he had a wife and child in England. They passed, before he was able to see them again. Jocelyn tells Mercy to see Bailey again. She also tells her exactly what to say. This leads Farlow and Redwick into a laughable trap. Davie and Henry sail towards the gold. Davie reveals that the Indians do not venture to the location, because they fear it is cursed by demons. Henry confesses he cared for a jeweler in Jamestown when the man became ill. He kept him alive for nine days. In return, the man drew him a map in the dirt. Jocelyn visits Alice. She congratulates her on the crops and the cow. Jocelyn learns about Henry’s obsession with the gold. Back in town, Christopher speaks with Jocelyn again. Farlow and Redwick watch carefully. After the conversation ends, Jocelyn makes a snide comment towards Temperance. Once Jocelyn leaves, the Reverend (Shaun Dooley) tells Temperance that she should contact her relatives and get more information about Jocelyn’s past. She admits she already has. Meredith returns home drunk. Verity attacks him. Then, she tells him she will be a good wife, but he needs to be a good husband. That night, George opens his box and looks at the gold map. At the end of the episode, Silas and Alice discover that someone has killed their cow.

Jamestown Review

The 4th episode of Jamestown intensified the scheming between Farlow, Jocelyn and George. The trio has found themselves in a dangerous chess match and it could end with a bang. Jocelyn is hiding something and it could ruin her reputation within the local community. If that happens, it appears Temperance will be responsible for her demise. Meanwhile, Silas has found an enemy in Massinger. Edgar wants the Sharrow land and has proven he will do anything to get it.

As for Henry, he has left his old life behind to focus on his hunt for gold. For the moment, he has found an ally in David McDurran. That friendship isn’t likely to last long. James Read faced down death, but never really flinched. Will George eventually regret setting him free? Jamestown has a lot going on, but everything remains fluid and understandable. Despite a shaky start, the series has progressively improved. The 4th episode scores a 7.5 out of 10. Catch up with previous recaps of Jamestown now!

She finds a message from Mike Pennisi. Iman is shown in her cell playing with Franky’s necklace.

Wentworth Review

The 9th episode of this season was better. Using the plumbing system to smuggle the walkie talkie into the prison was unrealistic and cheesy, but it didn’t hurt the episode too terribly. Allie was forced to choose between Franky and Kaz. She decided to side with Franky, while also showing Kaz that she has lost her principles. Kaz was willing to put Franky’s little sister in harm’s way to regain control and bring down Jake. Allie stopped that from happening.

At times, it feels like Franky, Kaz and Allie are making headway, but Ferguson remains one step ahead of them. The Iman character finally became purposeful this episode. How is she connected to Mike? Was she working with him at one time? Will is out to get Jake, while Liz has set her sights on bringing down Sonia. The series has plenty of storylines playing out simultaneously.

The episode did a good job of moving the story forward. For that, it deserves a 7.5 out of 10. Catch up with previous recaps of Wentworth right now!

The White Princess Review

The 4th episode of The White Princess was fairly good. We got a lot of scheming between Elizabeth, Margaret and the Duchess. Plus, we got a brief, but bloody, war. While the Duchess and Elizabeth were defeated this time, they now have more powerful ammunition against Henry. Is the young boy in Burgundy really Richard? If so, this would force Lizzie to choose a side. Will she stick with her family or will she side with Arthur and Henry?

Something tells me Henry should’ve executed Elizabeth when he had the opportunity. She isn’t going to stop. The episode scores a 7.5 out of 10. Catch up with past recaps of The White Princess now!
